PMBOK Mind Map
Mind Mapping is a way for the brain to easily understand and memorize complex information.
Before we talk about Mind Mapping it’s important to understand how the brain functions
- When we have a thought two brain cells are making a connection. Every time the same thought happens the connection becomes easier.
- Brain processes information by way of Association and Emphasis.
So what it means is if we can make it easy for the brain to make these connections and associations it will be easy for the brain to memorize information.
Now it is well known that the material in PMBOK Guide is dry and difficult to remember. Anyone studying for the exam requires multiple revisions of the book to fully understand the relationship between the knowledge areas, the associated Project Management Processes and the slew of other terms.
Using Mind Maps it becomes relatively easy to understand the connections between these concepts and further to memorize them.
Here is an example of how this is accomplished. What follows below is an indented list of knowledge areas, the associated Project Management Processes, The Process Group, the Inputs, Tools and Techniques and Outputs of Project Integration Management.
